August 2015, my six year old Moko (grandchild) is with me at mine. Born in Australia, this is the first time in years that we have spent time together. Obviously, the 'Boomerang vine' works as well as a 'grape or kumara one'!… “Nan, I heard your bad boy friend robs banks!” GULP! “Yea my Moko, he did, and he got caught afterwards and sent to prison as punishment”. “OK nan. Why do people rob banks Nan?” “Why do you think people rob banks my Moko?” “Um, because they have no money and they’re hungry nan!”. “Gee my Moko that is a very thoughtful answer. Yep, there is truth in that for some people but there are other people in the world that have more than they could ever wish for, and they keep stealing and robbing; they’re greedy guts. What do you think about stealing?” “It’s just not good nan”. “You’re neat alright my Moko. Nuff said”.
“Oh hey, Moko, he’s not my boyfriend anymore but we’re still mates. You OK with that?” “I will think about that Nan OK. Let’s talk about it later” “Alright then”.
