TO CHLOE

poem by: Ann Parks

Chloe I can only imagine
how your grandad felt
carrying your small white coffin
in his strong shaking arms.
Please sweet darling
never forget
it was he who named you
 Chloe Louise.

When you were born I knitted for you
and every stitch held excitement and pride
alas dear one
I was never to meet
your grandad's darling
his Chloe Louise.

When you were in a coma
he sat by your side
his princess dress present
hidden under your bed.
Please little Chloe
for I know you will
please help your grandad
in all that you can!
He hasn't many pennies
but has so much to give
his eyes full of sorrow
his heart full of tears.

So when your great grandma
is teaching you to knit
and you're skipping with Angels
and stroking your pets
and fluffing up clouds
and growing so fast
please remember this :
That grandad loves you
his Chloe Louise.

beautiful poem! writing really does help instead of holding it all inside!

I like this poem.Very touching. And you are correct in saying writing helps Sadly many hold there pain inside.
