War of Pens

poem by: Bailey Vaughn
Written on Jan 02, 2015

Even when I’m low, I still stand tall.
Knees might shake, but I won’t fall.
Full speed forward, no looking back.
Regrets turned to wisdom, I’ll live with that.

Searched the tallest building for myself.
Looked in the mirror to see why I failed.
Stutter slumber while I stare, Reflection blinks as I glare.
“What do I do, Where do I go?”

Keep moving forward, no looking back.
Look how far I’ve come. I used to question that.
I hold my head high, never look down.
Doing what I can to keep my feet on the ground.

Never giving up, never letting go.
Living my life, just trying to grow.
Learning my lessons, even though I might blow.

What is life with out struggle?
What is living without the troubles?
Shackled down but, I’m still fighting.
Links clashing, sounds like lightning.

Sheath this sword that resembles my pen.
Keep my words clean till there is war again.
