THINGUMMY, THINGY AND OOJAH

poem by: Patricia Wilton-King
Written on Oct 20, 2014

We have a different language
when our memory goes into decline
Thank heavens, for Thingummy
who is a really good friend of mine.

And then there's you know, Oojah
oh you know what I mean
lives in the same box as -- Watchamacallit
often mentioned, but never, never seen.

Thingummy has a cousin, Thingy by name
Thingy now has a place
a place in re-call, in my brain.

Thingummy has more relations
Thingummyjig being one
and I suppose Thingummybob may be an uncle
or could even be, -- his son.

Gosh! This Thingummy has a big family
there is another one
Thingummybobbin is spoken of
he's longer, and not to be outdone.

Now if Wotchamacallit, is nowhere to be found
a word that's used a lot is -- Wotsaname
it is usually somewhere, around.

That brings us onto Wotsit
the baby of the bunch
I think I'll be relying on Wotsit
and that's more than just a hunch.
