As dawn is waiting patiently

As dawn is waiting patiently

In the early morning hours
By the dreamy riverside
The morn is soft and still, and calm
And all feels deified
As dawn is waiting patiently
To welcome in the day
The river flows so dreamily
The sky’s all bluish grey.

Brown duck floats all by himself
Little circles him surrounds
Leading into bigger circles
Such peace it can be found
Within his little feathered form
As sun waits in the sky
To welcome in the brand new day
Two birds above me fly

Reflections of the many trees
Upon the river glow
As in wondrous harmony
The river slowly flows
Two red canoes lie in the grass
Too soon folk will be there
To row them up the sleepy river
And much enjoyment share.

Robert Kohlhammer commented:
I can imagine myself near the river as I read it, nice poem.
