Former Friend

poem by: R.T. Aquinas
Written on Jan 30, 2018

To my former friend whose name is Ruth,
The time has come to tell you the truth:
I just want to apologise
Just look me in my contrite eyes.

I'm sorry that I slagged you off
Please, I beg you, do not scoff
I know I have done you wrong
That's why I write this apology song

I considered you my sister
Now I really miss you
I know we're not friends
But I ask that this hostility ends.
