It's over

poem by: Shaffiate Ishmael

I know it's over
It was coming for a long time
We both never say it loud
But we knew it in our mind

The love we had before
It was so strong
No matter how far we wandered
We always knew right where we belong

But something happens
And we don't know when
We were still glued together
But standing on the end

you think It doesn't show
and you are a good actress
We are still sleeping together
But we separate the mattress

We know it's over
It's been coming for a long time
But we don't want it to be
So we keep it hidden in our minds

The time we left behind us
Keeps us growing
Even though the well has run dry
We still keep on flowing

And we know where we are going
Nowhere, nowhere at all
The winter comes again
And the snow began to fall

And on some cold night
When the wind blows the trees
I will be in the corner of my room
Praying down on my knees

Somewhere we lost our love
And we won't say it too
But deep in our hearts
We both know that its true

Isn't love a crazy thing
She would say
While we both try to deny it
That love has faded away

Even when the sun shines
Through our window
The seeds already dry
And there's nothing left to grow

The wheels are in motion
And it's spinning out of control
We both know it's over
And there's nothing left to hold

Where oh where
Did love go
We both know it's over
And one day will have to let go

What oh what
Will we do
We both know it's over
But we cant stop being me and you
