Waiting here for you

poem by: Jay Shades
Written on Dec 22, 2017

Am still here
Have I wronged you like humans poison the air.
Not caring, over looking your imagined slights.
Cussing you out over holes in tights.
Laying awake at night ,holding on to memories hoping they come to life.
Am still here
Raging against myself knowing you could never be.
You once admired my energy.
Consistently following through from what I say ,what I do.
Persistently pleasing just to see your smile come through.
Am still here.
