Moonlight

poem by: DONALD FRANCIS
Written on Dec 16, 2017

Did you ever go out on a warm summer night

walk down the road in the bright moonlight

It will ease your thoughts, and settle your mind

Like it has mine time after time

The moon has the power to change the tide

take your heart for a romantic ride

for thousands of years since the beginning of time

the old moon has been in many a rhyme

The moon has laughed, and cried for many years

brought many people a bundle of tears

It brings great joy, to the lucky ones

if you walk in the moonlight, and not in the sun

Some folks run thru life, and never see the moon

or see it at night, in the month of June

Or listen to the Mocking bird sing all night,

while sitting in a tree ,in the pale moonlight

When you walk down that road, on a summer night

you will see everything in a different light

you'll relieve all the stress of a hot summer day

if you look real close, you'll see the Milky Way
