No pockets in a shroud

poem by: Allan P Stevens

-
Rocky road has turned to pasture
Travelled so far down this line
My next stop will be forever after
That unseen dimension and time
-
Looking back with calm reflection
Know I dropped a bollock or two
Angry folk with negative reaction
I told them what they can go do
-
Today I stand at peace with my life
Hope I got a few more years to go
Make the best of remaining time
Try building something to show
-
I cannot take anything with me
Maybe the odd memory or two
There are no pockets in a shroud
Passing over will be the final truth
-
