The tormented soul

poem by: Taha Hassan
Written on Nov 02, 2017

I was found, only to be lost again.
I was loved, only to be hated again.
To be bereaved, dead-to-rights, forgotten.
To be done with, wronged with, pain stricken.

I wasn't dead, only to suffer again.
I wasn't killed, only to be tortured again.
To be deceived, corrupted, beyond hope.
To be hurt so much, unable to cope.

I am, but a broken person, shattered.
I am, but a million pieces, scattered.
With nothing to care for, love or cherish.
I am, but a soul waiting to perish ...
