Sharp

poem by: John Salvetti
Written on Oct 31, 2017

Her mind is sharp; shown by precision cut lyrics from her lips.
I've been searching for something sharp, with which to cut through this loneliness.
It is she who holds the dagger and can wield it as she wills.
Will she shove it through my heart, or help me make it heal?
Perhaps her blade is dull but deceiving. Or maybe a mirage -
for I've been wandering far too long - with this wound - and no gauze.
