The Reincarnation of a Dead Hope

poem by: Krista
Written on Oct 19, 2017

Incessant combat reload of guns
Dreadful bullets morphing into blood
Silent screams of melancholy is all I hear
Endless drowning from this sea of misery

I see humans but no humanity
Naive mortals hallucinating of escaping
Ceaseless running from this labyrinth of suffering
Ends up stumbling at a darkened beginning

Nevertheless, I still smell benevolence
Transcending through the unbearable pain
A new chapter for a dead end
Subtle clinging onto the rope of hope

-To the People of Marawi

Thank you @Frank Bryne! Philippines is my country and I'm dedicating this poem to the people affected by war in Marawi City. Never lose hope, God is the hope. :)

A very powerful and passionate elegy wonderfully expressed, good will always triumph over evil and the last two lines of your poem attest to this...please continue to write and share K. Ayana

There will always be the poor and the suffering in the world. Pistol and gun are the same thing you only need one of those words.

The world will always have the poor and the suffering. the words pistol and gun mean the same thing. you only need to use one not both.

I lay in bed and gaze at the cloudy sky through the bedroom windows wondering how long will I be a sullen loner sailing in these waves of sadness. Will things ever be the same again? I long for the ocean and how the splashing waves... Read more
