Pain

poem by: Larry Arnold
Written on Oct 13, 2017

Reaching out,
for painful thorns,
never mind the beautiful rose,
I applaud the pain.

Reaching, ever reaching,
for the sharpest of tongues,
to tear me apart,
word by word,
to desacrate every ounce of happiness
within my breaking soul,
I applaud the pain.

Touching, barely touching,
The knives in the drawer,
taunting you,
to use them,
to see red,
And I applaud the pain.

Gripping handful, upon handful,
of broken stained glass,
watching as the feelings seep out,
entranced,
I applaud the pain

Very intense and heartfelt. I write what I feel and I hope yours is a passing feeling. Good work.
