In Season

poem by: George McLaren
Written on Jan 13, 2014

February and March we blossomed, prematurely.
Spring in our step; love in our hearts.
For every leaf that fell in Autumn's wake
We smiled a smile; we laughed and loved, together.

There followed a Summer as in days of old
Your heart, now deep in storage, grew so cold.
The summery winds of hurt blew love away.

September brought a flash of what we had
Back to your eyes.
October sparked the hope that we
Would get back to where we were before.

November killled off all my hope
And now all love has died.

There will be no thaw in our relationship.
