Evening Blues

poem by: Julius Brian Cruz

A forlorn sonata, a story of the two of us.
Separated duet, lost hymns beneath the dusk.
Only in memories, shall our chorus be sung.
Voices of longing love, withered and left unstrung.

Upon our passing days, I yearn of you desperately.
By thoughts within the day, In dreams upon the night.
Humming melancholically, hoping tirelessly.
Beyond the boundless distance, ahead of short-lived chance.

I miss you to death, my beautiful wallflower.
To gaze at you with my eyes, and hold you tightly in my arms.
Composing sad poetries, writing of our fading love.
Carrying a speck of hope, that one day these words would mean enough.

Below the gleaming moon, upon the wind that blows.
A flickering candle fire, emanating crimson glow.
Till this distance exist, till these skies remain dusk.
A forlorn sonata, is the story of the two of us...
