Nothing

poem by: Paul Stephens
Written on May 29, 2017

How can you have so many things?
When in the end all you have is nothing
All the possessions and cash in the bank
But the reality is you have nothing

Food on the table a roof over your head
The fact is you could still have nothing
No need to work to support yourself
But still it all adds up to nothing

The thing that is missing even when multiplied by ten
Still comes up to be equal to nothing
People around you just don't understand
Leaving you feeling you're nothing

What is the point to giving your all
When in return you end up with nothing
Material things just a distraction in life
Without someone to love you there's nothing

Thanks for your comment Robert. The Beatles have that line in their song 'All You Needis Love"
