My heart is in Mukiltoe

poem by: Roxanne Dubarry
Written on Apr 26, 2017

My heart is in Mukilteo,
watching the blue heron bird,
gracefully fly over the
clear blue water.

My heart is in Mukilteo,
watching the seals
poke their heads out
of the clear blue water.

My heart is in Mukilteo,
watching the ducks
float on the clear
blue water.

My heart is in Mukilteo,
watching the eagle
poss like a statue
on the tree top.

My heart is in Mukilteo,
hearing the loud resounding
of a jet plane fly,
invisible over the
cloudy grey sky.

My heart is in Mukilteo,
seeing the children
climb over the drift wood.

While watching men and
women walking man's
best friends--their friendly
dogs.

My heart is in Mukilteo,
even observing the
young boys blow
vapor cigarette
smoke in my face!

My heart is in Mukilteo,
The large uncut rocks
adore the gravel road.
They carry a heavy load.

My heart is in Mukilteo,
watching the ferry boats
travel to and fro to
Woodbye Island.

My heart is in Mukilteo,
and I left it there.
I left behind my
worries and my cares.

Our heart is in Mukilteo,
even though we reside
in Everett, Washington.

Our hearts and dreams
remain in Mukilteo
until we meet again.

The rainy mist
became rain.
It became time to
go and leave behind
the friendly walkers,
and their dogs.

Love as always!

Wishful thinking

poem by Roxanne Dubarry

Why waste the time of day in wishful thinking? Why spin cobwebs in the air? Why wish upon a star, when no one hears? Many years I have spent in wishful thinking. Day dreaming most of my life away. Wasting away the years, Ign... Read more

Jesus Christ is my major source of inspiration, it is quite obvious to me. Without his help, I would possess no talent for composing any of my inspirational Christian poetry. He provides the words to say. He lightens my heavy ... Read more
