Older and wiser

poem by: Anna Tate
Written on Apr 21, 2017

A decade ago and I'd have said
That I agree with war & want our enemies dead.
But when I grew a little older & wiser & of sound mind
It was only then in realisation I seen that I'd been blind.

Falsely led in my growth & life's upbringing
Dancing a merry dance with all the others who'd also been foolishly singing.

But through the faults not of their own
But through the aged of timely era's
They set themselves if a differently sounding tone.
Not as the drums that has been previously drummed upon in evil sin
The worst sound that echoed in memories of satanic devilish din

Cecilia Crasto commented:
Powerful words, reading through your poems I can see that you are a thinker and you come to your own conclusions rather than blindly follow what others preach...very well done.
