Help Me

poem by: Andy Wilden
Written on Apr 15, 2017

Help me see the light and not diminish my spirit,
Let me grow from my hardships and let my crying soul hear it.
Help me gather those pieces laid dishevelled around,
Shouldering this heartache without a sound.
Teach me oh wise universe, the true value in life,
Help me stand unwavering, from any strife.
As broken as I feel, let my ancestors raise me high,
Let me face all the truth, let there be hidden no lie.
No matter the pain and no matter the cost,
No matter the journey or what may seem to be lost.
To every path there are choices to be made,
Decisions to be set, and many plans to be laid.
Give me the strength to endure this road,
The serenity and peace I need as I carry this load.
Help me in all ways to see the beauty that lies all around,
To open my heart to its wondrous sound.
I claim upon my spirit that I shall be set free,
And see my being released from all negativity.
Help me oh spirits, from this turbulent mess,
Guide me and protect me from this worldly distress.
Cleanse me with your pure light, engulf my pain,
Take away all my guilt, let there be no shame.
To the universe, I implore my solemn decree,
With blood and tears I will it, so mote it be.
