Finding my own trruth

Finding my own truth

Everywhere I go
The flowers gleam and glow
As trees, they dance upon the breeze
And to the heavens grow
The birds they whistle cheerfully
As their colours make me high
That’s there’s a mystic power, I’ll not deny.

Yet I don’t go to church
This be no place for me
I won’t listen to another
Though they preach so endlessly
Those folk who like to organize
They do nothing for me
To disbelieve, it be my destiny.

I cannot take another’s word
It’s wrote upon my soul
The answer lies so deep within
Words cannot make me whole
And if I cannot find this gem
I will not just believe
I’ll take my chances when this earth I leave..

So I will walk amidst the flowers
And while away the hours
I’ll watch those tress a dancing
That’s where I see the power
That makes me who I am today
I’ll trust in this alone
The path I choose to tread will be my own.

Well written. I traveled this road myself for a while and I am working on finding God. Not there yet, but I'm open. Take care. Janet
