Jesus

poem by: Summer Duncan
Written on Mar 26, 2017

Jesus, if you’re there
I want to tell you: I don’t understand
I don’t want to doubt you
I don’t want to doubt your plan
Why is life so painful?
Why so much suffering?
How can we know the meaning?
How can we know anything?

Jesus, if you’re listening
My heart is broken now
My soul is feeling empty
My body feeling down
I don’t want to be this way
I wish I was positive
I wish I could forget the world
But, sadly, I’m still in it
