Nightmares

poem by: Ocean Carey

I'm afraid to sleep tonight
for nothing but nightmares come with my sleep
Taunting me by night and haunting me by day
Tears leaking down my face
is what awaits me when I awake from these horrors
Forced to watch my biggest fear
come to life every night
You would think watching it every night
would make me no longer afraid
instead it just makes it worse
For I only have one fear
a fear I'm sure many have as well
It leaves me feeling empty and hollow
after the night has passed
In my dreamland
there is no such thing as a happy dream
only pain, blood, and death
As I watch every one I love get murdered
leaving only me alive tormented with loss till my time comes
Or to watch one commit suicide
before my very eyes
To where I feel nothing but guilt
for I could not stop them
I'm Afraid to sleep tonight
for nothing but nightmares come with my sleep

Sorry you have problems with nightmares. I only have them if I have to take a narcotic for pain. Take care. Janet
