Lord of the Universe

poem by: John Pegg
Written on Mar 08, 2017

God your are at one with our planet.
Part of your being is in the smallest atom.
The myriad galaxies to you are merely stepping stones
To cross the dark waters of the blackness of outer space.
As for your faces, they may be counted in billions.
Not to hide behind, you wear each countenance with pride.
You can be found in the deepest waters,
Stand serenely on the icy crowns of the highest mountains.
Come forth as crystal sweet water from sources of natural fountains.
In the deepest snow ignore the cold, hot deserts offer no barriers.
For those who thirst, you create a fertile oasis
With refreshing water, dates and figs.
You are the supreme guardian of all creatures and plants which live.
Forgive us our trespasses knowing we can never come up to your perfection.
You who unfailing nightly switch on the moon and stars.
All mighty you are.
Everything within this great universe,
You are an integral part.
