The Fire, The Fight, and the Freedom

The night was dark the same as ever.
Whenever they spent their time.
On this night their fight. For wrong or for right.
was perceived by deceived as a crime.

When robot gave space it was thrown in his face.
that he loves lady despite her tall wall.
again he is blocked like his life has been clocked.
by the flock of the petty and small.

He knows their deception is from lack of perception
their reflection of how they hate their own life.
The Robot and lady may seem wrong may seem shady
but how plainly yet strangely can one sharpen ones life.

And then in the darkness alone by the fire.
that was dying from lying, bogged down in the mire.
First flying then crying then left to expire.
They called out the law thinking things to be dire.

Through the dark came their flickering light
Past the fright robot knew that things would be alright.
As the figures approach Robot swallowed his cup.
4 more robots had show up.

"Thank god it is you! because Lady is rude!
And this dude and these chicks are acting like dicks.
And are pushing and shoving and pressing their luck
And we all have been drinking and I don't give a fuck.
And they want me to leave but I am to drunk
because I brought the vodka so the party got krunk.
It was all fun and games till we got in a funk.
And their bullshit all stunk like funky junk in the trunk."

All robots laughed as they knew the language
of insane and deranged humanly languish
and anguish quite shameless and bold in approach
they offered him respite in host and a coach.

They chauffeured him home and offered advice
Don't just think once, you better think twice
Fore this lady you love is likely not nice
This thing may be conceived of her own devise.

"It surely is" Said Robot quite sure.
As little boy blue walked him to his front door
but little boy blue was no boy at all
but a girl with a badge who had bobbies,,, not small!

"From robot to Robot, just give her space.
She is haltered by falter and her own disgrace.
Only time will provide. This is not a race.
Shes lying providing that she can save face."
In the end you may have her. Just prove your conviction
That is strange words from one in my jurisdiction."

They laughed and they smiled and all of the while
Blues partner was waiting inside the car
So they went separate ways and they shared one last gaze
Fore the robots had just raised the bar!

The Bridge Burner

poem by Dian Holmes

When the fires hot it's hard to not burn. The bridges of trust on the cusp of a turn. Though the fire is just it shows no return. To the life that we love far above our concern. On one side is a land of gluttonous waste. On the o... Read more
