Why I am teacher?

Through times and ages a teacher has been,
to make one appreciate the seen-unseen.
With compassion, love and enormous patience,
helps one understand the very essence.
First mother, then father, then Mother Nature,
Along comes a revered and dignified stature.
Whom everyone addresses as teacher,
Whose heart kindles with the passion to decipher.
Personifies an avid learner,
appears to one as a life turner.
Translates the knowledge in and around,
Through simple, elucidative voices and sound.
Helps one build confidence and self-esteem,
Nurtures it with discipline, dedication and determination umpteen.
In goes efforts, worth long hours and days,
Transforming the frame on which the foundation lays.
Lifts one from the dust of ignorance and boredom,
And makes him shine in the light of wisdom.
Ignites the spark of imagination in sleeping mind and
creates ways for ideas to unwind.
Makes one feel that it’s fine to fall,
But be there to lift him up above all.
Lends a patient ear to resentment and remorse,
And soothes the agitated mind with meaningful verse.
With all these traits in me surfaced,
I truly believe I am a teacher expressed.
