Never Came The Dream

poem by: Michael Wise
Written on Dec 24, 2016

For all this while, I've been alone

it seems my wait shall ever be

Your smile went to someone else

for you took no delight in me

Why did you have to come along

possessing such a lovely face?

How I have longed for such a time

to be inside your warm embrace

And like a cloud you passed on by

right overhead, yet far from me

And though my hopes for you were high,

never came the dream to be
