The Right To Be Human
THE RIGHT TO BE HUMAN
Life is a right for us all to enjoy
And not for others to destroy
No religious interpretation, ethos, law or political regime
Should allow for the subjugation of any human being
Yet across our world today there are people
Who are denied the right of free will
Fundamentalist, extreme, vile brutality
Impacts upon so many
Men, women, children, babies and the unborn
The outlook for them is so forlorn
They exist, just, but have no real life
Continually threatened by the gun, sword or knife
As the feared tool
By which others rule
Over them
We must not take for granted what we have and always pray
That for these unfortunate others and their progeny, the day
Will soon come
When they will have the right
To be human
