Wishful thinking

poem by: Aina A

I wish I never met you, but,
I think you already knew that
Perhaps you also knew that I couldn't
Handle the fact that;
You'd always be a mile away
Your mind on other things
Your mind and also your body
Would be occupied by all of those other things;
The things that make but also break you
The things that form a part of you
The things that will be fixed; with the eventuality that bounds you
While I the apple that has tempted you
Will sit here feeling tortured
Will sit here being a perfect soul
The one you wish you nurtured
Alas, I'm not the one
Not yours, not theirs and perhaps not even mine.
I sit here waiting for all this crap to pass...
And leave behind, nothing for you or them;
But keep the me...
The me that knows that these fucked up fantasies will all but disappear and leave behind no more than just a memory.
