Jaded eyes

poem by: K Alexander
Written on Nov 09, 2016

Sometimes i sit in wonder
At the darkness in the world
Then i close my eyes
And think on all the light aswell

Empty sometimes is the word
That comes to mind
When i think of love
Or loss and truth and lies

What point does it have
Letting in those who will be lost
What do you gain
And what is the cost

Then i remember
Fairy tales and pictures
Where true love never dies

So i wait
With hope and jaded eyes
For alove that is true
One that i pray never dies
