Sister Dont See

poem by: Quiana Beco
Written on Nov 01, 2016

Sister when you open your eyes and mind
You will truly see
That all your hurt, frustration, and selfishness
Shouldn't be aimed at me
How can I condone your wrongs
When I should advise you right
And you say I don't have your back
That slick talk just ain't right
Cause in actuality
Quick for you I'd fight
It's been like that since the day you were born
We came from the same womb
A poor mother scorn
We may have been separated for a few years
Sister when you cry I cry
I'm here to catch your tears
I am your older sister
Now let's talk woman to woman
But with your disrespect words
I hate to see you coming
Your mind frame alone really breaks my heart
When I know deep down inside
Your so very smart
We may have different opinions
We may have different views
I would love to share positive information with you
And report it like the morning news
But you're your own woman
And I will let you be
“ oh my lil sister “
I can't wait for you to see

Geoffrey Brewer commented:
A nice mixture of vernacular and poetic speaking. Heart-felt and expressive, generating fellow feeling and a wish for your success.
