Longest Day

Friday was stuck in limbo, thought it would never end,
One thing I do know, I was in dire need of a friend.
All had come crashing down, just like a ton of bricks,
Felt like I should leave town, dismiss all of the pricks.
One can try so damn hard, and for reasons unknown,
Always let down my guard, lending to hurt so prone.
As tears did fill my eyes, so hard to carry on,
Reviewing all the lies, the heartache they do spawn.
A lesson has been learned, and stored inside my mind,
No longer to be spurned, my love no longer blind.
