Freedom Unlimited

Once again, open wide my heart has been ripped,
Now and then, it stopped, and a beat had been skipped.
A tear in my eye, for the absence proclaimed,
Pain draws nigh, when I do hear her name.
Her flirtatious ways, branded me special indeed,
I was lost in a daze, and my mind paid no heed.
To the signs that were there, if only I had seen,
She really didn't care, didn't say what she'd mean.
Self absorbed like a sponge, she held too much water,
My ego took a plunge, became workplace fodder.
But I will rise again, with my spirit secure,
It happens to most men, we fall prey to allure.

A hard, painful lesson, effectively expressed, with awareness and optimism.
