The will to persevere

poem by: Shane Smith
Written on Oct 28, 2016

The yelling in your ear
All the screaming that you hear,
It all adds up to the objective in your mind
Leaving your thoughts trapped in a bind.

They say it will be alright it will be okay
Yet the shouting persists another day,
They push you and push you harder and hard
Until you break down and fall like a house of cards.

You are on the verge of letting go
All your thoughts are moving slow,
But you overcome and stay strong
Until bad is gone and nothing is wrong.
