Duplicity

poem by: Aina A
Written on Oct 26, 2016

The duplicity created by my own self justification is amusing to watch from a distance.
I crave and hide from the attention that this anomaly creates.
I run away and yet..towards the "me" that is then made and;
As the real "me" sits in the corners of my own dark mind;
I start to unravel the package that is so well presented;
to see what sits inside.
The gift that is within me..the "me"
Jumps out from hiding and declares;
Don't run, don't turn a blind eye to;
The beautiful nectar, smell and sound that you create.
Just own it.

Geoffrey Brewer commented:
A striking exercise in honest self awareness and analysis of aspects of existence. More than duplicity it could be multiplicity. The key words here seem to be "that you create" (the 'real' me, watching from the corner). Or am I just a candidate for 'pseuds corner'?
