Old Town Sonnet

   OLD TOWN SONNET

On either side the River rise
high banks protecting valley and town
Neath ever-changing tropic skies
From brow of ridge where we gaze down
The ancient village spreads below
Just waking in the morning light
That tints it with a warming glow
Revealing coffee shops to sight
Their magic liquid heals the Soul
Gives hope to face the breaking day
While body's braced from spicey bowl
To bring us in our hearts to pray,
That always you will erase our frown
A blessing on you Ipoh Old Town

The coffee shops of the Old Town in Ipoh, Malaysia
are rightly famous for their food and particularly the
wonderful coffee that they serve.

I like your imagery in this well written sonnet. You take me there and I can taste the reviving coffee. (My favorite drink) Janet
