Blood Brothers

poem by: Cecilia Crasto
Written on Oct 12, 2016

Blood does not a brother make
But one who comes your hand to take
If you should stumble and when you fall
He'll lift you up and stand you tall

When others see the worst in you
He will bring out the best in you
He gives his promise and never fails
When troubles come and doubt assails

And when you walk on shaky ground
Looking for purpose you've never found
He'll walk beside you all the way
And never let you go astray

When you're running through the jungle
With a tiger at your back
He'll be the decoy for you
And lead him off the track.

We cannot choose our kith and kin
The ties of blood lie deep within
But when we find a loyal friend
That is the bond that will not end.
