The Knock on the Door.

poem by: Christopher Russon
Written on Aug 06, 2016

The enemy is knocking
He is knocking on your door
The enemy who is knocking
You need not fear anymore.

The snow falls heavy on the ground
The night is dark and cold
There is a soldier out there
With news that must be told.

He says the war has ended
And peace has come at last
It is time for celebration
And time to raise a glass.

So let us end our anger
The past is now the past
The future is looking brighter
Let us hope this peace will last.

Very well expressed, we can only hope that these troubled times will soon pass.

Thank you. If only the knock on the door was that easy. Saddly not.

Regrettably, We fight war "out there" instead of the father of all lie: our ego - however, it's the job of the poet to pen for hope.
