Darkness To Light

poem by: Cecilia Crasto
Written on Jul 24, 2016

The thoughts keep spinning around in my brain
Like raindrops lashing the window pane
I'm spiraling down to an empty space
Slowly descending to a darker place.

Like a symphony with a sweet refrain
The lilting movements the moments of pain
The melody fades and soon goes away
The darkness remains on the brightest day.

I stand alone and gaze at the sea
The distant horizon gently beckons to me
The water is swirling around my feet
I turn around and slowly retreat.

Enshrouded in darkness engulfed in pain
The tears keep falling like wintry rain
The sun is shining and the flowers bloom
I stay alone in my darkened room.

Why does it have to be this way
I want to awake and embrace the day
I'm travelling down a scary street
My heart is racing to a crazy beat.

And then I reached out my hand to you
Please help me Lord just guide me through
You found me there in my darkest night
Lifted me up and showed me the light.

... You gave me what I needed most A purpose in life that is worth the toast You left me with a mission and your words rang true As you sent me off you said I see "you" :)
