Life

poem by: Stephen Westerland
Written on Jul 21, 2016

Life is such a wonderful thing
The joy and splendour
The challenges it may bring
When you’re feeling down
And ready to give up
Along comes a friend
To refill your cup
Busy at work rushing about
Head full of thoughts heart full of doubt
Relax and enjoy these wonderful things
For these are the lessons we learn
That day by day living life brings
Life is not easy
The tough times we go through
The doubt the anguish the fear
But if we all pull together
And offer a helping hand
Things get better year after year
For nobody will live for ever
One day life will come to an end
So it doesn’t cost anyone anything
To lend a helping hand
To listen and just be a friend.

Christopher Russon commented:
I really enjoyed reading your poem as I do reading your others. Life certainly is short on this earth.
