I remember

poem by: Stephen Westerland
Written on Jul 13, 2016

You hurt me
When you sent me away
Didn’t want me around
Wouldn’t let me stay
Left in the cold
Sad and alone
And when I called
You never answered the phone
It would have been nice
Just to hear your voice
You sent me to her
I didn’t even have a choice
But know I have grown
For my past I forgive
With my beautiful wife
I have my own life to live
A beautiful woman
A wonderful friend
She makes sure I’m never
Treated like that ever again
