Hurting

poem by: Stephen Westerland
Written on Jul 13, 2016

I’m hurting
My best friend is so weak
I’m hurting
He finds it hard to speak
I’m hurting
He sits in a lounge chair all day
I’m hurting
His muscles are wasting away
I’m happy
Whenever I see my friends face
I’m happy
He will go to a better place
I’m lonely
Whenever you are not there
Remember
That I will always care
I’m hurting
That you are soon gonna leave
I’m happy
You’re with me always, that I believe
I’m happy
That we became the best of friends
Never forget
The friendship between you and me never ends
