TO ALWAYS SEE THE LIGHT

poem by: Darryl Ashton
Written on Jul 10, 2016

On some days I feel
nothing,
On some days I see
something,
On some days I feel
inspiring,
On some days I feel
requiring.

But there are some
days I find life isn't
for me,
On some days life
has no key.
On some days life
means I don't see.
On some days I feel
free.

Life is so precious,
that is what I'm told.
Life has no meaning -
and everything's on
hold.
Life is so very
challenging, and I
often feel like I'm
sinking.
Life is like a mystery,
and my heart wants
to stop beating.

I blame this on an
illness, depression,
it is called.
I seriously want to
defeat it - and fight
as I'm told.
I want to live my
life free - and never
feel old.
Defeating my
depression - as my
life is still on hold.

But the days will
get better, and my
suffering will then
stop.
Seeing the light as
never before - I
then just want to
hop!
Oh, lord, hear my
prayer - and help
me see the light.
And each new day
that I may see -
will always feel
just right.
