the kill

poem by: Melissa Blan
Written on May 26, 2016

As she looks at you,
Tears falling from her eyes
Rolling down her cheeks.
The blood dripping from the knife,
That cuts her slowly.
You can hear her screaming for help
But you ignore it.
You choose to watch her in pain,
then help.
Yet you know there still time.
Time to save her from the pain.
You can stop it all right now.
But the tears still fall,
And the blood is still dripping.
She looks at you with eyes that can reach your soul,
And find you.
But you don't stop.
And you won't,
Not until the breathing stop.
And the body drops.
