Are You a Friend in Me?

Are You a Friend in Me?

Who am I? Who are you?
What are we to one another?
Who are we together?
I cannot talk to me, I cannot talk to them.
Can I talk to you?
Do I have a friend in you?
Is there a friend in me?
I struggle with the life I have.
I feel sometimes all alone,
but not when I hear and feel your tone.
A friend is what I find in you.
We open our hearts, bared trusting and warm.
We feel and share, we are not alone,
a friendship is what we have.
Back and forth, to and fro, harsh words, kind words, loving words,
this is what we cherish, the bond in which we share.
I’m not in love with you, you’re not in love with me,
there is no sexual intimacy.
There may be judgement, disappointment, silence or chatter, but all this, we share together.
When in need we come together
We meet, we share, and we support one another.
Friendship,
I am a friend in you,
You are a friend in me.

Josh Frye commented:
Touching. We need somebody to stand by us. Good way to describe a strong bond ,because you mention the positive, and the negative, but through it, it creates a stronger bond. Use some distinctive word that describes what you are to eachother.Mabey it'lead somewhere else in a different version
