Wash some feet

poem by: Ryan Barger
Written on Oct 29, 2015

Sitting on a bench
On an empty street
I hadn't expected
The hopelessness I'd meet
I was moved by God
To wash some feet
I got up from my seat
I looked around
Now their was none
None could be found
I had some water
I quenched their thirst
I had some money
I'm not the worst
I handed it out
I wasn't the first
The tears ran down
They were on the ground
They walked the streets
They sat around
I wanted to do more
I ran out of money
I was on the streets
I walked for miles
I could barely speak
I have no regrets
A difference was made
If I'd had more money
I would have stayed.
