the reality of a dream come true

poem by: Ryan Barger
Written on Sep 08, 2015

The sight of the suffering
Of the cross
Mirrored my own agony
But the weight that fell upon me
Brought me to life
As darkness
Was brought to light
And morning came
And with it
You
Knocking on my door
And bouncing on my bed
Even now
The impact isn't lost
Only where are you
And why is life
What it is
Could years of suffering
Been reduced to none
Can suffering now
Be lessened
But I've given up
On the reality
Of a dream come true
And I feel I've carried it all
And I cry
As loved ones fall
And what do you have left for me
Please tell me it gets better
Than day after day
Of aching nothingness

These words truly shows a person that is emotionally drained. Well done!

Thanks man
Shanta commented:
Your honesty is breathtakingly beautiful! Whilst suffering is a useless teacher - repeated miss perception (love is out there) help us to dig deep for the truth.
