If You

poem by: Julius Brian Cruz
Written on Jul 19, 2015

We met again today, and you've never been so beautiful.
The same as yesterday,a familiar feeling of blissful.
From the stars in your eyes, to the warmth of your smile.
Now love withers and dies, still you're away for miles and miles.

Days when wind blows too hard, maybe I'll learn to let you go.
The heroine in my bards, will you see my fading glow?
As you step farther away, greed only grew stronger.
Yet as i try to make you stay, love only grew sadder.

Just like a fading star, that falls upon the silent night.
Guess my hopes went too far, catching an unattainable light.
You turned too beautiful, became too perfect for my sight.
Miracles aren't for the sinful, so let the curtains fall for tonight.

Yet as i keep unwillingly, memories of you in this drawer.
I take them out secretly, and reminisce when the rain showers.
If you're struggling like i am, can't you just make things easier?
If you would know where i am, maybe one day we'll be together.

Empty Thoughts
