Absent Military Dad

poem by: Samantha Johnson
Written on May 12, 2015

Don't know how to feel, the manual doesn't say,
Left without a half you only get half way.
By blood received our orders, by circumstance our hell,
And so it was I never heard, "You're daddy's precious girl".
I am all grown up now my lines are well rehearsed,
With military precision I execute my verse.
If you care I hope your proud of your addition to the world,
The only thing that's missing is, "Daddy's precious girl".
