Pessimistic Society: An Embarrassing Poem From High Sch

poem by: Ernest Areheart
Written on Apr 28, 2015

We are all so distraught
Our disease of worry is easily caught
And we breakdown and lay empty on the floor

We don't know what it means to confide
Our souls cry as our hearts die inside
And stop wondering what this life is for

We think death is the easy way out
Our sense of feeling is clouded by doubt
And our pain becomes an echo we can't ignore

I have read all of your posted poems. This one in particular is my favorite because of the theme. I believe more young people contemplate suicide than in the past due to how much in life is expected of them. I enjoy your poems, so please post more.
